Ishikawa Moriyoshi (石川盛義)
Moriyoshi ISHIKAWA (year of birth unknown - August 28, 1318) was a busho (Japanese military commander) in the Kamakura period. He was the 11th family head of the Mutsu Ishikawa clan, which followed Yamato-Genji (Minamoto clan). He was the first son of Motomori ISHIKAWA. He was the father of Iemitsu ISHIKAWA, Karyu ISHIKAWA, Tokimitsu ISHIKAWA, Yoshitaka ISHIKAWA and Mitsuyuki ISHIKAWA. He filled posts of Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Shinano no kami (governor of Shinano Province) and Jushiinoge (Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) Aki no kami (governor of Aki Province). His wife was a daughter of Tsunetoki HOJO.
In October 1314 he visited Kamakura with his second son Karyu and a relative Mitsusuke ISHIKAWA and was granted an audience with the shogun Imperial Prince Morikuni. Moriyoshi and Mitsusuke went up to Kyoto and were appointed to Jushiinoge (Junior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) Yamato no kami (the governor of Yamato Province) and Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Tanba no kami, respectively.
